5 Reasons Why You Don’t Need Others To Live Your Life

Sometimes we lose ourselves in the masses. We believe we need someone to act as a support, to tell us how we should act, who we are supposed to be, and what we need to love.

Here are five reasons why it’s okay not to listen to others, and find your own way in life.

1. You Are Number One

Yes, you are. Truly. Even if you think the life of someone else is more important than yours, you need to put yourself on number one. When you are not taking care of yourself and your needs, you can’t take care well of others.

2. Others Can’t Shape Your Life

There’s so much peer pressure, be it from friends, family, or colleagues. People that expect something from you, even if it’s the tiniest thing, can change you.

While it’s good to have people that support you, it’s important to stay true to yourself and your own goals.

Only you know what you truly want, and what your dreams are is never 100% equal to what others think your dreams are. Don’t let others be the judge of your dreams.

3. No One Cares

Oh, I’m not trying to bring you down. Though it’s important to realise that no one cares about how you live your life.

Don’t be scared to fail and to acknowledge that to others. At least you took a leap and tried something new to change your life. Every fail teaches you something in life.

Unless you are an heir to some billionaire and can do anything your heart desires, you need to work your way up yourself.

“Your goals and dreams aren’t presented to you on a silver plate.”

You have to work for it on your own. Alone.

4. You Are Worth It

We often cling to others, because we are too scared to face the world on our own. It’s like learning to ride a bicycle. You managed to ride without training wheels and there’s countless paths to ride on, but you keep cycling comfortably next to your mother without even daring to take a different path.

You deserve your own life that you can be happy with. This life has to be customed to your taste, not someone elses.

5. No One Is Alike

Stop comparing your life to others. Like I said earlier, your dreams aren’t equal to the ones other people have.

Focus on your own likes and stay true to yourself. Just because the majority of the world is following a trend, doesn’t mean you have to like it.

“Accept yourself to be different.”

Everyone likes different things, has different preferences, and follows different goals and dreams in life. Don’t let your life be decided by what others like, but focus on your own happiness.
